As a therapist trained in Sports Massage, my goal is to aid athletes in improving and maintaining full range of motion and muscle flexibility, boosting performance, preventing injuries, and extending the overall life of their sporting careers.

During physical activity—especially strenuous exertion—muscle tension builds up in the body’s soft tissues. As a result of overextension or overuse, minor injuries and lesions occur in these tissues that can cause a great deal of pain, resulting in reduced athletic performance. Sports Massage helps alleviate pain and prevent injuries that greatly affect flexibility, mobility, response time, and overall performance.

In addition, regular massage has been proven to enhance the immune system, which greatly aids athletes in staying healthy so they can continue training. With regular massage, athletes can train harder because they recover faster.

I combine the use of Sports Massage with complimentary therapies (including Kinesio Taping), Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT), and sports nutrition to aid my athletic clients in achieving and maintaining peek performance. I also recommend stretching routines to help maintain flexibility.

Regular Sports Massage can improve athletes' performance by:

   • Shortening recovery time between workouts
   • Maximizing supply of nutrients and oxygen through increased blood flow
   • Improving range of motion and muscle flexibility, resulting in improved power and performance
   •
Reducing the chance of injury, through proper stretching, event preparation, and deep tissue massage

Pre-event massage is the ideal supplement to an athlete's warm-up to enhance circulation and reduce excess muscle and mental tension prior to competition. It also improves tissue pliability, readying the athlete for top performance.

Post-event massage
aids in reducing muscle spasms and metabolic build-up that can occur with vigorous exercise, and helps relieve pain that can impact the ability to maintain a solid training regimen.
